After providing the Baum coat/SKY ISLAND Oz oriented material in November of 1997 that I have summarized above, Booker T. posted only once again on the SynchBoard until almost a year later, when he began the first tier of the Booker T. Archive here. This took the form of a very short post at the end of a series between myself and another web site owner concerning the long term value of Dark Side of the Rainbow. What came out of this discussion, which ran about 9 or 10 lengthy entries as I recall, was a modification of his Dark Side of the Rainbow page to include more on Jungian synchronicity, which both he and I found the most interesting potential aspect of the film/album synchronicity. He specifically mentioned the 1997 posts of Booker T. as one catalyst for this modification, citing the inclusive SKY ISLAND and Baum coat oddities as possible grounds for an Oz oriented synchronicity theory to counter a Pink Floyd intent conspiracy.
As Booker began to intuit the end result of this discussion, he started adding little elements to my last three posts in the series. These mainly include odd names of post titles, made up poster names, and additional ending notes. I have listed these out here by date of post, including the added endings just below the post title and author:
12/17/97: Sherwood-Colon, Michigan by AManAPlanACanalPanamaRIDDLE: Why did the author (MaN) stop in the middle of the bridge? ANSWER: To get to the Other Side.
12/18/97: Ear(th)ling-Man, WV by A-L MaN O-Z
Ear(th)ling-Panama, IA
12/18/97(2): “Brother Death” by Aspinwahl the Grey
Ear[th]ling(ton)-MaNning(ton)-KirkMaN(sville), Iowa& KY;
Gray-Irwin,Iowa&ID/NE; Gray-Aspinwall,Iowa&PA
Aspinwall and Colon were coexistent names of the second largest city of Panama.
Then Booker added, to cap off this series, the aforementioned short terminal post, which simply included the title, "Manilla-Red Line, IA", and then, in the body itself, the matching phrase "Manilla-Red Line, AR."All of this ties back into the very first line of his next post, "The Naming of An Unknown Creator" (10/20/98), the first in the Booker T. Archive:
In the connect-the-dot game from my December posts last year, a Magic Square of Saturn is implied by two interlocking angles and a bisecting central diagonal. This is created from 8 towns in the west central part of Iowa.
Later in this tier, Booker again lists the "two interlocking angles" and "bisecting central diagonal" out by towns -- as he did in the December 1997 series -- this time assigning each town a particular number according to the magic sqaure pattern (with a vacant 5th number position). I have now provided here an actual map of these overlays, as well as those of matching towns in other states. Click HERE for these maps.Booker has also given me permission to related that, without exception, all of these cryptic names and map associations are connected to the death of famous American author Sherwood Anderson, best known for his 1919 novel *Winesburg, Ohio.* I won’t list all of these associations out, but they can be determined fairly easily with a little bit of research.
I also mentioned Booker’s obsession with Anderson in the last post of the December 1997 series with the other web site owner, after we had symbolically shaken hands across the Internet void after resolving our DSotR debate. Speaking further of the SKY ISLAND synchronicities, and referring to Booker T. as the "Pink guy", I then told him the following story:
I personally know the guy you're talking about with the Pink thing...but I think that's something he just ran across in his many readings and decided to post it (it's *still* interesting). The Sherwood Anderson stuff is a little creepier though. From another friend I learned the Pink guy's kind of convinced he knows the reincarnation of the famous writer (it's a former friend & co-worker). He even threw a party, intending to tell this friend what he believed about him...had all kinds of evidence and stuff (maps played a part, I think). However, the friend never showed up--was, in fact, the only person invited who did not attend--and then, towards the end of the party, *another,* newer friend, who knew absolutely nothing about this belief, proclaims out of the blue that *he* is Sherwood Anderson's reincarnation and that he wrote like him, his name was similar, and so on. Freaked the Pink guy out! I know this sounds like a set up--like the press dissing the Baum coat synchronicity because it *seemed* like it was a promotional ploy. But the Pink guy later convinced me otherwise, and that the two "Sherwood Andersons" had no causal connection with each other.I spoke to Booker at length after this party and explained to him my own beliefs concerning the highlighted events. Do I believe in reincarnation? Yes, in that it makes more sense we are seeded in various times and spaces at once in order to gain more spiritual growth opportunities. But no, I don’t believe in the traditional sausage-link way of approaching the subject (with each sausage a past life, one linked to the other in a temporal, linear way). I also pointed out to him that among the population of clinically insane people at any given time, you’re always going to have a substantial number believing they’re Napoleon Bonaparte, another group saying they’re Jesus Christ, and so on...in other words, people latching on to some archetypally important person in order to justify their own seemingly insignificant selves. I warned him this could be done vicariously as well.I bring this Anderson material up here to connect the two ends of the Booker T. material together, to link the newest entries, in this tier, with his oldest entries, providing a sort of closure for the whole thing. Also, it helps explain some other parts of his archive. For example, Booker claims the Prince Rupert contact from post #5 is based on a real close encounter with a flying saucer he and his wife experienced very near Anderson’s former house in Ohio. Strangely, he also told me the Magic Square of Iowa seems to relay specifics about this contact, including the shape of the ship and it's location. These oddities are, in fact, the primary reason Booker chose this symbol to initiate and frame his 1st tier of archive entries.
So where does Darwin McG. and his new Martian material fit in here? A mirror site to the Booker T. Archive, called the Kitchen Synchs, is beginning to form. It will, among other things, deal more fully with these new issues, perhaps resolving them, perhaps not. I have agreed to cooperate with Booker and Darwin in this project, which we envision as being about the same length as Booker's Archive (around 30 posts, reduced symbolically to 26). I will reserve absolute judgment on all Booker related material until this second site is completed and done with.
And now...some final words from the man of the hour himself.
