.....Came home one day and he was just sitting on my back porch, like it was the most natural thing in the world. He wore a metallic purple robe, open at the arms, with short, cobalt blue fur covering almost all exposed skin. His otherwise humanoid features blended seamlessly with the cat-like amber green eyes.
.....Strangely, after the initial shock, it did not seem at all odd that the alien was there...as if he were expected.
.....Telepathically, he told me that BIKER G. had successfully passed through the portal at [delete location] that very day. However, in my query regarding his chances of finding his intended goal of Brainard, it came out that, illogically, this contact actually happened over 30 years ago in Brainard's realm, and that the map clues I had received were from a BIKER-Brainard synergy projected forward in time.
.....A subsequent tour of the house ended in my downstairs study. After examining the room carefully, he pulled a large atlas from the bookcase, and, bringing it over to the table for light, carefully traced the Magic Square of Saturn over the appropriate region in Iowa.
.....I suddenly remembered, as if a spell had been lifted, that this alien was actually my old friend Rupert, who had contacted my wife and I in 1986 at [delete author]'s house...took us in his father's ship to the city of Horris on the northern side of Brainard's continent. I also remembered the long excursion by Rupert and I into the heart of this continent, to Brainard's sealed valley, where we became friends.
.....However, upon our return very little Earth time had transpired, as Rupert promised, and, in correlation, the memories had been censored.
.....Rupert then produced from inside his robe a small black pouch, said it was the final gift from BIKER. Thanking him graciously, I took it and examined the contents: five unequal sized silver-black cubes of [delete proportions]. Rupert then took the cubes and arranged them in a certain order on top of the open atlas--another demonstration of the Magic Square.
.....And as I watched, the same sad face of the Scarecrow of Oz dissolved into all sides simultaneously.....
